The exam will be conducted in two sessions each day: the morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There will be a rest day on November 25, 2024. Here's the detailed exam schedule:

To download the UPSC IFS Mains Admit Card, follow these steps:
- Visit the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in.
- Look for the Admit Card section on the homepage.
- Click on the link for "IFS Mains 2024 Admit Card."
- Enter your credentials (Registration ID/Roll Number and Date of Birth).
- Download and print your admit card for future use.
Make sure to verify all details on the admit card and carry it along with a valid ID proof on the day of the exam.

IFS Officers' Post :
Candidates who successfully pass the UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination and interview are appointed to prestigious roles in the Indian Forest Service, which is one of the All India Services. The officers are responsible for the management, conservation, and protection of India's forests, wildlife, and natural resources.
Here are the posts that IFS officers may be appointed to:
- Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF): Entry-level position where officers manage forests and wildlife, handle administrative tasks, and oversee conservation activities.
- Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF): After some experience, officers can be promoted to DCF, where they manage larger forest divisions and supervise ACFs.
- Divisional Forest Officer (DFO): DFOs are responsible for an entire forest division. They oversee all forest-related activities, conservation efforts, and implementation of policies.
- Conservator of Forests (CF): In this mid-level position, officers manage several forest divisions and oversee the work of DFOs. They ensure that forest management practices align with national and state policies.
- Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF): CCFs oversee the management of a large forest region and work on formulating policies, addressing legal issues, and managing wildlife and biodiversity.
- Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF): This is the highest post in the state forest department. PCCFs lead the entire forest administration of a state, ensure proper implementation of laws, and manage major conservation projects.
- Director of Wildlife Preservation: Some IFS officers are posted in wildlife preservation roles, where they work on projects related to wildlife conservation, management of national parks, and handling wildlife protection laws.
- Forest Research and Training Institutions: IFS officers may also be appointed to roles in various forest research institutions, such as Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), where they contribute to research and training initiatives.
